Our strategic direction
Teleste’s vision is to be leading provider of broadband video technology
and services for operators. We are passionately working towards this
vision by creating better and more valuable product solutions and
services for our customers. Our target is to create value for our
shareholders through profitable growth and for our employees through
challenging and inspiring working environment.
Teleste’s company structure consists of two customer-oriented business
units - Broadband Cable Networks and Video Networks - whose strategic
priorities lie in creating value added solutions and services for our
customers in selected market and business segments. The strategic
priorities of our Product Operations unit lie in developing technology
platform for business units and managing key development projects as
well as cost effective processes in producing superior quality products.
These operational areas are supported by the Support Function
organisation.
Teleste’s strength is built on our competent, innovative and committed
personnel dedicated to working for the company vision. We strive for
operational excellence through systematic process management to reach
even better quality with lower costs. We are a high technology company
with customer oriented technology development as our principle approach.
Our comprehensive international network enables customer care locally.
We already are market leaders in Europe in our field, but aim to be
within top three on the global market.
Teleste has an open and informal communication culture both internally
and externally. This is why we also communicate to our interest groups
our strategic key actions. These key actions are based on our estimate
of industry mega trends that we will be facing in the next 3 to 5 years.
To point out a few of these trends: IP based technology will be the
winning platform - more and more of symmetric bandwidth will be needed,
networks and contents will be digitalised and new services will be
needed over the existing physical networks. Demand for service offerings
will be growing steadily. In regard of the Video Networks’ some specific
trends: the general acceptance of video surveillance is increasing,
network management software and video recording play an increasing role,
and different add-on-applications are developing rapidly.
We are responding to these trends by adding more value to our existing
customer base, by innovative services and technology solutions and by
operational excellence. To point out some concrete key actions: We are
entering the residential broadband (data) market with advanced next
generation network technology, we are developing comprehensive IP based
products and systems such as Luminato and MyCast Hybrid TV solutions, as
well as widening our product range and competence through strategic
partnering. Further we develop our European wide services business
network. We are enhancing our network management competence and
developing our overall processes and low cost sourcing. Most of these
actions are well on their way and will be communicated in more detail in
specific business area sections.
With these and other actions we are committed to reach our target of
profitable growth. Our strategy is based on organic growth in promising
business segments, but we also are ready to grow through mergers and
acquisitions, should these support our strategic directions and should
promising opportunities rise.
